The Friends of the Birmingham Public Library
sponsor:
The Bookstore
The Bookstore offers a treasure trove
of books, magazines, selected media, and book bags all nominally priced.
Proceeds assist in funding library programs.
Friends of the Library volunteer to staff the store.
Friends Competition
The Friends Competition provides new, one-time
purchases, projects and programs that are "beyond the budget." The
Friends group will award a grant up to $1,500 to fund a new program,
materials, equipment or furniture requested by the staff of the
Birmingham Public Library. Proposals may be submitted by a branch,
a department at Central, or a library division. The goal of this
project is to identify needs and help the staff of the BPL.
Submissions will be judged on how well they meet this goal.
